The new governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Anca Dragu, was introduced to the team today, the Parliament Speaker, Igor Grosu, announced on his Facebook page. According to the official, Anca Dragu has extensive experience in the financial-banking field.
"Both the Legislative and the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, we have high expectations, because we want a resilient, strong bank that will contribute and participate in the economic and financial development of the country. The year 2024 is an important year for the Republic of Moldova, once after the opening of EU accession negotiations, and just like other strategic institutions, the National Bank has an important role in this process", declared Igor Grosu.
We remind you that, on December 22, Anca Dragu was appointed by the vote of 58 deputies to the position of governor of the National Bank of Moldova, president of the Supervisory Board and the Executive Committee of the National Bank of Moldova, for a term of seven years. Anca Dragu worked for over 15 years at the National Bank of Romania and the International Monetary Fund, she was Minister of Public Finance in the Government of Romania, and in 2020 she was elected president of the Romanian Senate.
