Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu was decorated with the "Order of the Republic"
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova, Nicolae Popescu, was decorated with the "Order of the Republic". Head of state Maia Sandu signed a decree today.
"The distinction is offered as a sign of high appreciation of his professionalism shown in foreign policy, for the constant support of the European integration efforts of the Republic of Moldova, as well as for the major contribution to the opening of the accession negotiations of our country to the European Union", reads a statement issued by the Presidency.
Also today, President Maia Sandu signed the decree awarding the "Civic Merit" medal to the adviser in the field of foreign policy and European integration, Cristina Gherasimov, who from December 5, 2023 was appointed secretary of state at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. The medal is given for special merits in the promotion of foreign policy, constant support of European integration efforts and for substantial contribution to the opening of accession negotiations.
