Moldova: Internal affairs chief touts success, pledges more
Moldova's Minister of Internal Affairs, Adrian Efros, struck a confident note in a Facebook message to his colleagues and citizens on the eve of the New Year.
Reflecting on a "year of significant events, changes, challenges, and major achievements," Efros praised the internal affairs system for meeting its set objectives.
"2023 saw us delivering on our commitment to high-level security for all citizens," Efros declared. "This has been a collective effort, and I want to express my deepest gratitude to every officer who stood on duty, ensuring everyone could enjoy the winter holidays in peace."
While Efros did not elaborate on specific accomplishments, he vowed to maintain the momentum in 2024. "We will continue on this path, striving for quality services that meet European standards and further bolster the sense of security in our communities," he stated.
Efros' message comes amidst ongoing public discussions about crime and public safety in Moldova. Although some citizens have expressed concerns about recent incidents, the Minister's positive assessment suggests the government is confident in its approach to tackling internal security challenges.
