Romania sells a record amount of electricity to the Republic of Moldova, providing 90% of the current requirement
Romania will provide, through breakdown contracts, 90% of the electricity needs of the Republic of Moldova, Digi24.ro reports. It happens after, for three days, the Republic of Moldova no longer receives electricity from the Cuciurgan Thermal Power Plant, located in the Transnistrian region.

Moldova has procured the entire amount of energy from Romania, including, to cover the deficit which represents 14%, announced Thursday morning on Radio Chisinau, the director of Energocom, Victor Bânzari, according to the cited source.
"The entire amount of energy is procured from Romania, even to cover the deficit. We currently have signed contracts with OMV Petrom and Nuclearelectrica. Today, we have identified another producer and by evening, I hope we will be able to sign the contract with them as well. Yes, it's the first time we buy such a large amount of energy from Romania. What we did not have covered by the contracts, we procured from the OPCOM exchange", declares Victor Bânzari.
The right bank of the Dniester no longer receives electricity from the Cuciurgan plant since Tuesday after the authorities from Chisinau and Tiraspol failed to reach a compromise to sign the electricity supply contract for the month of November. Moreover, another agreement with another electricity producer from Romania is almost completed, Victor Bânzari also said.
