Damaged buildings following a 7.6-magnitude earthquake in Indonesia
No injuries were reported following Tuesday morning's 7.6-magnitude earthquake in Indonesia, a local official was quoted as saying by AFP. The earthquake occurred in the Moluccas Islands in eastern Indonesia and damaged 15 buildings including two schools.

The strongest earthquake was felt in the Tanimbar Archipelago, where most of the damage was recorded, said Abdul Muhari, spokesman for Indonesia's Disaster Management Agency.
No tsunami was reported, although a tsunami warning was issued immediately after the earthquake.
Indonesia's Meteorological and Geophysical Agency - BMKG - initially assessed the earthquake as having a magnitude of 7.9. The magnitude was later revised to 7.6. The epicentre was located offshore, 148 kilometres northwest of Tanimbar.
Indonesia is located in the so-called Pacific Ring of Fire, an area in the Pacific Ocean where several tectonic plates intersect. In this region there are numerous volcanoes and large earthquakes which occur frequently, reports Agerpres.
