The presidency published the report on Maia Sandu's travels abroad
In 2022, the expenses of the presidential administration for visits abroad exceeded 500 thousand lei and amounted to the lowest expenses in the last four years, according to the Report published by the Presidency of the Republic of Moldova.
"The expenses of the presidential administration for external visits made in 2022 amounted to 514,403.43 lei, less than half of the amount of 1,052,700 lei allocated from the budget of the Presidency for last year. For the year 2023, the amount allocated for visits abroad is 700,000 lei", according to the press release of the Presidency of the Republic of Moldova.
In previous years, for business trips abroad, the Administration of the President of the Republic of Moldova spent the following amounts:
2021 - 534,442.51 lei out of 1,414,000 lei allocated; 2020 - 632,692 lei out of 1,000,000 lei allocated (former administration); 2019 - 1,845,451.8 lei out of 2,100,000 lei allocated.
During the past year, President Maia Sandu had 19 trips abroad. The head of state gave speeches in the plenary of the European Parliament and at the United Nations General Assembly, and participated with speeches at several international meetings, conferences and public events, where she also had bilateral meetings. Also, President Maia Sandu made visits at the invitation of her counterparts and other high-ranking officials from the host countries.
