On old style Christmas, Moldova 1 broadcasts live, starting at 09:00, the Christmas Liturgy from the "St. Dumitru" church in Chisinau. This holy place is a monument of architecture and history of national importance.
Built in 1902, the "St. Dumitru" church in Chisinau was closed in 1962 by the then communist regime. In 1990, the place was reopened with the help of a group of believers. Since the same year, a library has been operating next to the church, and in 2004 a Sunday school and a social center were established. During the live broadcast of the Christmas liturgy from the "St. Dumitru" church in the capital, the children's choir will delight the viewers with a concert of carols.
