Over 11 thousand people were employed in the labor field last year. Raisa Dogaru: Moldovans prefer to work in the private sector

In 2023, 32 thousand jobs were identified and declared vacant. Most of these are in the fields of light industry, trade, transport and the public administration, the director of the National Employment Agency (ANOFM), Raisa Dogaru, told Radio Moldova.

"We own most of the new places from the private sector. Citizens want to work in the private sector and want higher wages. People who meet the qualifications and skills required by employers find a job more easily. If we look at the statistics of these more than 11 thousand people supported for employment, about 40% of these people are women. They are young people, but we have quite a large percentage of people who are of an older age," said Raisa Dogaru.

Also, according to the National Employment Agency, almost 270 people with disabilities were employed last year, 240 - citizens of the Republic of Moldova who returned from abroad and 87 Roma people.
