A new session of the European Parliament starts in Strasbourg
A new session of the European Parliament begins on Monday in Strasbourg. On the agenda are the priorities of the Belgian presidency of the Council of the Union and the special summit scheduled for February 1 by European leaders, Rador writes.
With just five months to go before the European Parliament elections in June, MEPs will discuss the upcoming special summit on February 1, which will try to unblock Hungary's veto on the €50 billion aid given to Ukraine and the budget review of the EU for 2021-2027.
The president of the European Council, Charles Michel, and the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will participate in Wednesday's plenary meeting of the European Parliament, which will also analyze the recent EU summit in December.
