Eminescu celebrated in verse and song at Moldovan Academy
A joint event between the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Moldova and the Romanian Academy commemorated the National Day of Culture with a special session titled "Eminescu in Verse and Song."

"In recent years, our festive sessions with the Romanian Academy set an example for society," remarked Ion Tighineanu, president of the Moldovan Academy. "National Day of Culture, regardless of the name in Moldova or Romania, celebrates a single shared cultural heritage."
Eminescu as National Treasure:
Mihai Eminescu, the renowned Romanian poet, whose birthday marks the National Day of Culture in Romania (December 7), was declared the "greatest gift from God" by Mihai Cimpoi, an academician. "Eminescu's universal value speaks for itself," Cimpoi asserted.
Music Inspired by Poetic Genius:
Composer Eugen Doga, whose music draws inspiration from Eminescu's poetry, acknowledged the immense challenge of setting such verses to music. "I boldly embarked on this journey, understanding the responsibility it entails," Doga confided. "Eminescu's unparalleled excellence inspires awe."
Cultural Recognition and Celebrations:
The Academy further recognized the contributions of distinguished cultural figures within Moldova by awarding diplomas and medals during the festivities.
