Moldova strengthens health and climate change response

The Cabinet of Ministers met today to approve a number of important measures to strengthen the country's health and climate change response systems.

One of the projects to be approved is a new system for early warning and rapid response to cross-border health threats. The system will establish procedures for the notification of alerts, the exchange of information, consultation, and coordination of responses.

The government is further expected to approve amendments to a draft decision on the establishment and operation of the National System for Monitoring and Reporting Greenhouse Gas Emissions and other relevant information for climate change. The amendments will strengthen the system's capacity to collect and analyse data on greenhouse gas emissions.

The approval of these measures is a significant step forward for Moldova in its efforts to improve its preparedness for health threats and climate change.
