Survey: President Maia Sandu, among the foreign leaders in whom Ukrainians have the most confidence
The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, ranks sixth in the list of the most trusted foreign leaders for Ukrainians. At least that's what a survey conducted by the New Europe Center shows. According to the survey, 50.4% of Ukrainians trust the leader from Chisinau, the percentage being on the rise compared to last year..
The most trusted foreign leader for Ukrainians remains, for the second consecutive year, the president of Poland, Andrzej Duda. According to the survey, 87% of Ukrainian citizens trust the leader from Warsaw.
The President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, enjoys the appreciation of 79% of Ukrainians and thus ranks second in the list, while the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, occupies the third place.
In fourth place in the ranking, is the head of the British government, Rishi Sunak. According to the poll cited, 64% of Ukrainians trust him.
On the other hand, Vladimir Putin, the president of the Russian Federation – the country that invaded Ukraine in the spring of 2022 – enjoys the greatest distrust among Ukrainians. The leader from Moscow is followed by the Belarusian president, Alexander Lukashenko. Thus, 97% and 94%, respectively, of the Ukrainians who participated in the survey declared that they did not trust the two allies.
The distrust of Ukrainian citizens includes, among others, the President of China, Xi Jinping, (73%) and the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban (69%). According to the cited data, compared to 2021, distrust towards these leaders has tripled.
