Russians launched new rocket fire on the cities of Kiev and Kharkiv. There are dead and dozens injured
At least five people died, and 40 were injured, following the rocket attack launched Tuesday morning on the Ukrainian capital Kiev and the city of Kharkiv, UNIAN reports, citing a release from the rescuers.
In Kharkiv, two women died, five people are in serious condition in the hospital, and 35 other people were injured,said the head of the regional military administration, Oleg Sinegubov.
As a result of the bombings on Kyiv, 18 people were injured, Mayor Vitalii Kliciko announced.
In Kyiv's Svyitoshinskii district, private sector houses are burning after falling rocket debris. Firefighters have already started extinguishing the fire. Many ambulances are on the scene, but no casualties have been reported. The windows of the neighboring houses were destroyed and the cars parked nearby were damaged.
About 20 missiles were fired at Kiev, all of which were shot down by air defense forces, First Deputy Head of Kyiv City State Administration Nikolai Povoroznik told Radio Liberty.
The Supreme Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valerii Zalujnîi, said that a total of 41 missiles were launched, including 15 cruise missiles and 12 "Iskander-M" ballistic missiles.
