Moldova-Hungary ties deepen, eyeing economic synergy

Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Hungarian President Katalin Novák held productive talks in Budapest on Wednesday, solidifying bilateral relations and exploring new avenues for collaboration, particularly in the economic arena.

Government spokesperson Daniel Vodă highlighted the focus on "irreversibly securing" Moldova's European integration path. Prime Minister Recean emphasised the joint effort behind reaching EU accession negotiations and Moldova's unwavering commitment to continued reforms and European modernization, including legal harmonisation with EU standards. The visit, at the invitation of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, also includes meetings with the Hungarian counterpart, business leaders, and the Moldovan diaspora in Hungary.

Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea and Interior Minister Adrian Efros accompany Prime Minister Recean and will hold separate meetings with their Hungarian counterparts.
