Resolution on the firm support for the European path of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine was signed in Romania
A resolution confirming firm support for the European path of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine was adopted today during the joint meeting of the legal commissions of the parliaments of the Republic of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine.
By this resolution, the Senate of Romania confirms its support to the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine in the European process. Also, the Judiciary Committee of the Senate reiterated its willingness to provide support in the process of carrying out the reforms.
"The institutional policy of the Romanian state is aimed at providing full support, at all levels, for facilitating the path towards European integration, in the spirit of democratic values", reads the Resolution.
The purpose of the joint meeting was to bring the three countries to the same discussion table, to analyze the relevant aspects in the pre-accession process to the European Union. Particular attention is paid to the field of justice and the functioning of the judicial system.
The meeting of the legal commissions takes place between January 24-28, in Romania. The President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, the Vice President of the Romanian Senate, Virgil Guran, and the President of the Supreme Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, participate in the discussions. Also, the event will bring together representatives of legal institutions from the 3 countries, magistrates, lawyers and diplomats.
