Tragedy in Chisinau. A 14-year-old boy drowned under the ice of the pond "La Izvor"
A 14-year-old minor died after he fell under the thin ice of a lake in Chisinau, reads a statement of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.
According to the information, two children aged 12 and 14 went to play in a park in the capital. They would have decided to enter the frozen lake and children fell into the water. Only the 12-year-old boy managed to get ashore.
Rescuers, canine experts and the police carried out search actions yesterday, but without success. Only this morning, around 08:30, the lifeless body of the minor was found at a distance of about 20 meters from the shore.
The case is being investigated by law enforcement.
In this context, IGSU urges people to be careful with children and not allow them to be around water pools. The frozen lakes are extremely dangerous in winter.
