Moldovans could receive messages regarding emergency situations
In cases of emergency situations, such as extreme weather phenomena, floods, but also other situations that seriously threaten communities, Moldovans could be warned by a message on their mobile phone.
Thus, within the project "Improving the emergency response system of the Republic of Moldova by implementing an early warning system", a feasibility study was developed, informs the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.
Based on the project, during six months, the risks, the level of technological development of our country, the providers of electronic communications were examined, but also the international practice in the field was taken into consideration. Following the study, it was concluded that the best early warning solution for our country could be the "Cell Broadcast" type.
According to the technology, in an emergency situation, the population could receive a warning message on the mobile phone, regardless of the operator, in a very short time.
