Netanyahu vows victory against hamas amid calls for resignation
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reiterated his promise that Israelis will emerge victorious against the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas in the Gaza Strip, reports dpa, as noted by Agerpres.
"Unless we eliminate the Hamas terrorists, these 'new Nazis,' the next massacre is only a matter of time," Netanyahu declared Saturday evening at a press conference in Tel Aviv.
The main lesson of the Holocaust is that "only through ourselves can we defend," added the Israeli premier.
Saturday, January 27, marked the International Day of Holocaust Remembrance, dpa recalls.
Meanwhile, thousands of people demonstrated in downtown Tel Aviv, demanding Netanyahu's resignation, accusing him of dividing the country and denying his share of responsibility for the circumstances that led to the massacre committed by Hamas in southern Israel on October 7, 2023.
