Eurovision Song Contest 2024 // Results of the draw: the Republic of Moldova will perform in the first semi-final
In the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, which will take place on May 7, 15 countries will participate, including the Republic of Moldova, according to the results of the draw.
Thus, in the first part of the show, Ukraine, Cyprus, Poland, Serbia, Lithuania, Croatia and Ireland will perform. In the second part, Slovenia, Iceland, Finland, Portugal, Luxembourg, Australia, Azerbaijan and the Republic of Moldova will take the stage.
The second semi-final will take place on May 9 and we will watch the performances of 16 other countries.
In the draw procedure, the number of the semi-final in which the Big Five countries and Sweden, the host country, will have the right to vote has been determined. Viewers in Germany, Sweden and the UK will vote in the first semi-final. France, Italy and Spain got the right to vote in the second semi-final.
We remind that Eurovision 2024 will be held in the city of Malmö in Sweden, the country whose representative won the 2023 edition of the contest.
The Republic of Moldova has been participating in "Eurovision" since 2005. In that year, our country, represented by the band "Zdob si Zdub", placed sixth. The band "SunStroke Project" achieved the best result in 2017, taking the third place in this contest. In order to represent the country again this year at the contest, the "Teleradio-Moldova" Company is organizing the National Final on February 17. The winner will be chosen from 11 competitors, selected after several stages.
