Moldovan plums, in demand on the German market

Moldovan plums conquer the German market. According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the export of plums to Germany has increased "considerably" in recent years.

According to the cited source, from 2017 until 2022, the export of plums produced in the Republic of Moldova increased from 220 tons to about 5,500 tons. The German Agricultural Market Information Agency announces, for its part, that Moldovan plums currently represent 30-40% of the total plums imported by the German state. We remind you that, following the decision of the European Union, starting from July 2022, for a period of one year, our country doubled its export quotas on the community market, for seven agricultural products: tomatoes, garlic, table grapes, apples, cherries, plums and grape juice.
