Russian peacekeepers stop cars with diplomatic numbers without reason. Chisinau's reaction
Illegalities committed by Russian representatives in the Joint Peacekeeping Forces were discussed during the weekly meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC), which took place in Tighina. In particular, cases were mentioned when cars of diplomatic missions accredited in our country were stopped at illegal posts by representatives of the Russian Federation. In this regard, the delegation of the Republic of Moldova warned that they are violating their duties when they admit these situations.
The representatives of the OSCE Mission and of Ukraine in the Joint Control Commission were also present at the meeting, who mentioned that their movement was unjustifiably restricted.
Also, according to the JCC statement, the delegation of the Republic of Moldova emphasized the provocative violations and warned of the consequences that may occur, if the abuses are not abandoned. "Also, the OSCE Mission in Moldova informed that its monitoring teams carried out 24 field trips during January, found new sections of metal parapet along the road that separates the towns of Bender and Varnița, as well as the presence of concrete blocks in the same perimeter", reads the press release.
The Delegation of the Republic of Moldova reiterated the call for the removal of illegal checkpoints from the Security Zone. The proposals of the Chisinau delegation were rejected by the representatives of Tiraspol, who proved their lack of interest in reorienting the activity of the Joint Control Commission towards normality.
We remind you that last autumn the separatist administration from Tiraspol installed barriers between the localities of Varnița, under the jurisdiction of Chisinau, and Tighina.
The Chisinau delegation in the JCC described the actions of the administration officials from Tiraspol as illegal, provocative and unfounded.
