Cristina Gherasimov on a visit to Brussels. The European path of the Republic of Moldova, on the agenda

The negotiation process and the actions to be undertaken by the Republic of Moldova during 2024 were discussed by the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, during meetings with European officials. In Brussels, the Moldovan official met with the Secretary General of the European Commission, Ilze Juhansone, the Secretary General of the European Council, Therese Blanchet, and the Director General of the Department for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Michael Siebert.

Also, the European agenda of the Republic of Moldova was discussed with the deputy head of the General Directorate for Justice and Consumers, Irena Moozová, and the director within DG NEAR, Adrienn Kiraly. During the visit, Gherasimov met with the chief advisor for foreign policy in the office of the President of the European Council, Simon Mordue, and the diplomatic advisor of the Prime Minister of Belgium, Skander Nasra.

At the same time, Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Gherasimov had meetings with Ambassador Irena Andrassy, Croatia's permanent representative to the EU and member of Croatia's accession negotiation team, and Drita Abdiu-Halili, Deputy Chief Negotiator and Secretary of State for EU Affairs from North Macedonia. They discussed the methods of collaboration and the importance of adopting good practices for boosting the process of the Republic of Moldova’s accession to the European Union.

The visit of the deputy prime minister ended with a meeting with the members of the Moldova-EU club, which includes Moldovans settled in Brussels. The discussions focused on how they can support the European path of the Republic of Moldova.

"In achieving our national goal, we rely on the support of all our citizens, whether they are at home or in the diaspora," said Cristina Gherasimov.
