Consultations at the Presidency // Maia Sandu urges the representatives of the political parties to support the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the EU

A new round of public consultations on the subject of the referendum on the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union was held today at the Presidency. According to a press release from the institution, representatives of 14 political parties participated in the discussions, who showed their support for our country's accession to the EU.

The representatives of the parties discussed the questions they have regarding the process of organizing the referendum and pointed out certain risks. The participants appreciated the organization of such discussions and are open to continuous dialogue, which would ensure cohesion in society for the future of the Republic of Moldova.

Maia Sandu mentioned that it is important that all political actors in the country have a correct political dialogue with the citizens, do not misinform the public opinion and respect the will of the citizens. The head of state urged all parties to support and to promote Moldova's accession to the EU.

Consultations will also take place in the coming weeks. The referendum on Moldova's accession to the European Union will be held by the end of this year.
