Artist Ștefan Popa's new solo exhibition, "GeoMetrie și GeoFlorie," offers a visually striking exploration of form and emotion.

"I have a deep love for both flowers and geometry," Popa explains. "Beauty can be found in simplicity and construction. Even flowers," he continues, "can be simplified and geometrized. My goal is to use lines, points, and surfaces to convey the essence, the inner meaning."

This innovative approach, developed over the past two years, marks a new chapter in Popa's artistic journey. His abstract compositions evoke diverse emotions, leaving viewers to interpret their own personal narratives.

"His work draws inspiration from two distinct sources," notes exhibition curator Valeria Barbas. "On the one hand, there's the Cubist aesthetic of the Bauhaus design movement, while on the other, we see him delve into the delicate world of still life with its soft, natural colours."

Fellow artists and students from Popa's alma mater, the "Alexandru Plămădeală" Art College, were among the attendees at the opening, captivated by the symbolism woven into each piece.

One visitor commented on the "multitude of works and techniques" on display, while another lauded the "powerful emotions" evoked by the vibrant colour palette.

A professor and artist herself, Tatiana Vătavu described the exhibition as "beautiful and unique, with a bolder use of colour." She commended the inclusion of a captivating sculpture, saying, "it adds another dimension to the experience."

"This exhibition," remarked Florina Breazu, president of the Union of Visual Artists, "showcases Popa's recent artistic pursuits. He's a versatile artist," she continued, "exploring painting, graphic art, and sculpture, even delving into interior design through research and doctoral studies."

Popa himself acknowledged his primary career in interior design but emphasised his enduring passion for "flowers, graphic art, and painting."

Born in Mândrești, Telenești district, Popa's recent creations will be on display at the "Constantin Brâncuși" Exhibition Center until February 25th.
