Moldova Supports Families with Increased Childbirth Allowance

Moldovan families welcomed the 2024 increase to the nation's one-time childbirth allowance, as 1,059 individuals have received the 20,000 lei (1,000 euro) benefit since the change took effect.

The National Social Insurance House (CNAS) administers the streamlined payout without additional application from parents.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection (MMPS) clarifies that the allowance applies to each live birth (including multiple births) provided the child is registered with the Public Services Agency.

"Moldova prioritizes family support and reducing child poverty, as underscored in the Government Action Program 'Moldova - prosperous, secure, European'." the Ministry emphasized.

The 9,068 lei increase brings the benefit total to 20,000 lei.

Moldova is a small country located in Eastern Europe.
