Ukrainian forces destroy Russian landing ship
Ukrainian forces destroyed a large Russian landing ship, the Tsezar Kunikov, off the coast of the occupied Crimean peninsula on Wednesday, the Kyiv military announced.
The Ukrainian military said in a statement that the ship was "located in Ukrainian territorial waters near Alupka at the time of the strike."
The statement also included a video of the attack, which showed a column of smoke rising from the sea off the southern coast of Crimea.
There was no immediate comment from Russia, which had earlier announced that it had destroyed six drones in the Black Sea.
The Ukrainian military's intelligence agency said that the Russian warship was attacked with naval drones.
The destruction of the Tsezar Kunikov is a significant victory for Ukrainian forces, as it will make it more difficult for Russia to launch amphibious assaults on the Ukrainian coast.
The attack also comes as a blow to Russian morale, as it shows that the Ukrainian military is still capable of inflicting significant damage on Russian forces.
