Deputies demand the hearing in the Parliament of the Minister of Agriculture, Vladimir Bolea

The deputies demand the hearing of the Minister of Agriculture, Vasile Bolea. A request in this sense was made by the chairman of the Agriculture and Food Industry Commission of the Legislative, Alexandr Trubca.

"Considering that we are at the beginning of the year, but also in the context of the latest events, I propose hearing the Minister of Agriculture, Vladimir Bolea. To come and tell us about the ministry's priorities for 2024, to tell us what has been done in the almost two years since he has led the ministry, for the agricultural sector and farmers, but also to come up with concrete solutions that the ministry has for the farmers who are now still protesting", said Alexandr Trubca.

The proposal of the PAS deputies was also supported by the opposition, gathering 79 votes.

We remind that for the fourth consecutive day farmers are protesting in several regions of the country, and the Leușeni-Albita crossing point was blocked by the protesting farmers. The farmers insist on the meeting with the head of state - Maia Sandu, the PM Dorin Recean and the Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu. Their main two demands concern the fulfillment of the promise regarding the provision of diesel fuel from Romania and the allocation of compensation for each hectare of corn and sunflower, cultivated in 2023.

We remind you that yesterday, after the Government meeting, Prime Minister Dorin Recean declared that the Executive has a constant dialogue with farmers and that its mission is to identify the financial sources necessary to help farmers. Dorin Recean said that on Friday he will participate together with the Minister of Agriculture Vladimir Bolea in a meeting with farmers.

Also on Wednesday, the Minister of Agriculture went to Cahul, where he talked with a group of farmers who suffered the most due to the drought in recent years. At the beginning of the meeting, a large part of them left the room, requesting meetings with the country's leadership.
