Discussions in Munich about the Republic of Moldova’s accession to the EU and the security situation in the region
The progress made by the Republic of Moldova in advancing the process of joining the European Union, the security situation in the region and the US support for the modernization of the country were the topics discussed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mihai Popșoi, during a meeting in Munich with James O'Brien, the assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs.
According to the Foreign Minister, during the meeting they discussed bilateral relations and the importance of the Strategic Dialogue meeting for deepening the partnership between the Republic of Moldova and the United States of America, which will take place in the spring of this year, in Washington.
"We thanked for the support provided to our country by the US in all areas of strategic importance," the official's message reads.
Also, the Moldovan official announces that James O'Brien appreciated the reforms implemented by the authorities of the Republic of Moldova and assured that the US will support our country's European path.
