A man from Vulcănești, detained for organizing the illegal migration of two Ukrainians
A 45-year-old man from the Vulcăneşti district was detained for 72 hours, after he helped two Ukrainian citizens to illegally enter the territory of the Republic of Moldova. The incident happened in the area under the responsibility of the Vulcănești Border Police Sector, at the end of last week.
According to the Border Police, the foreigners were to pay 4,000 dollars each for the services provided. The Ukrainian citizens aged 33 and 34 were discovered by the law enforcement officers shortly after they managed to cross the state border clandestinely.
The Moldovan was detained and placed in the preventive detention cell, and the migrants applied for asylum on the territory of the Republic of Moldova.
