A former head of CFM will stand trial for damages of over five million lei
The former head of the Moldovan Railway (CFM), Iurie Topală, will stand trial, announces the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases. He would have fraudulently rented locomotives on the left side of the Nistru.
According to PCCOCS, apart from the procurement plan, he would have entered into a contract to lease the locomotives at an increased price. The actions of the former head of CFM resulted in damage to the company with five million lei. Prosecutors charged him with the crime of abuse of office.
Iurie Topală risks a fine of over 57 thousand lei or imprisonment of up to three years, in both cases with the deprivation of the right to hold certain positions.
We remind that Topală is targeted in another case, in which seizures of about one million euros were applied.
