EU Approves 13th Sanctions Package on Russia
The European Union approved its 13th package of sanctions against Russia on Wednesday. The Belgian presidency of the EU announced the news on social media, according to Reuters.
"EU ambassadors reached an agreement on the 13th sanctions package targeting Russia's aggression against Ukraine," the Belgian presidency said, calling it "one of the EU's most comprehensive to date."
The new package will see nearly 200 entities and individuals added to the sanctions list, but no new sectoral measures will be adopted.
The package will be officially approved in time for the second anniversary of the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24.
