Prince Radu Attends Moldova Economic Forum
Prince Radu of Romania attends the second edition of the International Economic Forum in Chișinău, alongside Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu.
In his speech at the Forum, Prince Radu emphasised the link between education and economic performance.
"The modern and pragmatic spirit of today's economy is a good example for society. I am glad that this initiative is supported by those who have a higher education background. You cannot develop without universities. Performance can only be achieved through education, so I was glad to learn that there are also representatives of universities from Moldova and Romania among us," Prince Radu said.
His Royal Highness also highlighted the unconditional support that Romania provides to Moldova.
"There is no greater joy for me and Princess Margareta than when we go to European capitals to support the cause of Moldova. We are always surrounded by more and more people, because in addition to the Romanian community, there is also the one from Moldova."
Speaker of Parliament Igor Grosu stressed the importance of investment and sustainable economy in the negotiation process for Moldova's accession to the European Union. He stressed that Romania is the main supporter of Moldova in strategic areas, such as energy.
"Exactly one year ago, the first edition of the International Economic Forum took place, and it is already becoming a beautiful tradition. Thank you for inviting so many good people here to Chișinău. Your Royal Highness, thank you for everything you have done for our country, for talking to the EU member states and for obtaining a historic decision in December last year, when we obtained the opening of accession negotiations to the EU. It was a dream that came true very quickly. The secret of success is very simple: work and the support of friends," Igor Grosu said.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean said the business environment in Moldova has become more attractive over the past year, with new markets opening for domestic producers. He emphasised that the business community is now more receptive to new opportunities.
The second edition of the International Economic Forum is taking place in Chișinău. The event, organised under the auspices of the Romanian Royal Family, brings together experts, professionals and leaders from the public and business sectors from Romania, Moldova, Italy, Poland, Germany and other countries.
