Moldova Hails EU Sanctions, Fights Russian Hybrid War
President Maia Sandu of Moldova welcomed the European Union's decision to sanction six Moldovan individuals and one entity accused of undermining the nation's democracy and stability.
Sandu emphasised that the sanctions signal strong support for ensuring a secure future for Moldova.
"I thank the EU for its continued support. The European Council's decisive action today in imposing new restrictions on those destabilising Moldova sends a powerful message – together, we are resolute in safeguarding a secure future," Sandu wrote in a post on social media.

Prime Minister Dorin Recean affirmed that the Republic of Moldova has the European Union's full support in its fight against Russia's hybrid warfare tactics. He welcomed the EU Council's decision targeting those seeking to destabilise Moldova and threaten its sovereignty and independence.
"This is a clear signal of the EU's unwavering commitment to our fight against Russian hybrid warfare and attempts to undermine the rule of law and security of our country," Recean stated.

Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi commented that the EU's actions demonstrate a strong commitment to upholding a rules-based order and stability in the region.
"The European Union is expanding its sanctions regime to include six individuals, including an FSB agent, and a legal entity implicated in destabilising the Republic of Moldova. We welcome these actions as a testament to the EU's dedication to rule-based order and stability in our region," the Foreign Minister stated.
