Two years of war in Ukraine // Marko Shevchenko: We see light at the end of this story

After two years of war, despite the difficulties on the front, the Ukrainians are determined to fight on, because they have no other option but to resist the Russian aggression, said in an interview for Radio Moldova, the ambassador of Ukraine in Chisinau, Marko Shevchenko. The diplomat said that Ukraine needs more external support, both military and economic.

"It's hard to talk about war, on the one hand there is a feeling of fatigue, on the other - opinion polls show that Ukrainians are determined to fight because the entire society has already understood that we have no other choice but to we fight and resist. If something happens, the consequences will be dire. The Ukrainian military understands that the fate of the country is in their hands," said the ambassador of Ukraine.

Ukraine's ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Marko Shevchenko, said that Russia cannot win in Ukraine because it has the resistance shown by Ukrainians to defend their "homes and homeland".

"The Russian army is poorly educated, and the equipment is not as good as it has been said. The Russians have no resistance, as the Ukrainians have a strong spirit to defend their homes and homeland. At the same time, Russia becomes weak due to the imposed sanctions. Ukraine needs political will to be translated into real deeds. We have no doubt that help will come, we need quick moves and timely decisions. We count on deeds, not words", concluded the ambassador.

We remind you that two years ago, on the morning of February 24, Russia attacked Ukraine and declared that a "special military operation" was started.

Since then, a bloody war has started in the neighboring country that continues to this day, with hundreds of thousands of people dead and injured, millions of refugees, with destroyed towns and infrastructure.

The Republic of Moldova and the EU states strongly condemn Russia's brutal war of aggression against Ukraine.
