Ukrainian men aged between 18 and 60 are no longer allowed to approach the border of the Republic of Moldova

Ukrainian citizens aged between 18 and 60, who may be conscripted to participate in the war, are prohibited from approaching within five kilometers of the border with Romania and the Republic of Moldova, according to an order signed by the head of the State Border Service in the Chernivtsi region.

The move comes amid a worrying increase in the number of people trying to leave the country to avoid conscription.

Exceptions, according to the document, are made only by those who live or work within its boundaries, or the owners of land located in the strip. In both cases, the persons must have the appropriate authorization issued by the border detachment.

Also, the Border Police from Chernivtsi prohibited the movement of vehicles in the border area, except for those located at the border crossing points.

The restrictions are valid within the border towns of Selyatynsk, Beregometsk, Krasnoilsk, Chudeysk, Petrovetsk, Suchevensk, Kamianetsk, Hlybtsk, Tereblechansk, Tarashansk, Hertsaivsk, Vancikovetsk, Mamalygivsk, Livenetsk, Kelmenetsk, Sokiryansk, Vashkovetsk, Chernivtsi, Dnistrovsky, Vyzhnytsky in the Chernivtsi region .
