Ukraine Triples Arms Production to Counter Russia
Ukraine seeks to bolster its defence against the Russian invasion. In 2023, the country tripled its arms production, announced Ukrainian Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin, quoted by Reuters.
The official said that 500 companies, including 100 state-owned ones, are currently working in the country's defence sector.
Kamyshin stated in a televised address that Ukraine plans to "significantly increase ammunition production" this year.
Ukrainian Minister of Digitalization Mykhailo Fedorov emphasised that 90% of the drones used on the battlefield against Russian forces were produced within Ukraine.
Ukrainian Interior Minister Igor Klimenko stated that no weapons have crossed the border from Ukraine into the European Union during the two years of the Russian invasion.
