Moldova: EU Program Fees Waived

Moldova will be exempted from paying annual financial contributions for its participation in European Union programs from 2021 to 2027.

The Moldovan Parliament ratified the Framework Agreement on January 23, 2024, with 73 deputies voting in favour.

The Agreement suspends Moldova's financial obligations due to the economic, financial, and political consequences of Russia's unprovoked and unjustified military aggression against Ukraine. Moldova currently participates in several EU programs, including Fiscalis, Customs, Single Market Programme, EU4 Health, LIFE, Horizon Europe, Union Civil Protection Mechanism, and Connecting Europe Facility. Additionally, future agreements between Moldova and EU programs could also be eligible for this suspension.

The European Commission will annually evaluate Moldova's situation to determine the need for continued suspension of payments.
