Maia Sandu, at the meeting with Moldovans in Romania: Accession to the EU means peace, well-being and a better life for all citizens

The perspective of the Republic of Moldova to join the European Union and the organization of a referendum on this topic were discussed by President Maia Sandu during a meeting with the diaspora from Romania. The head of state said that the meeting was attended by Moldovans from Anenii Noi, Cimișlia, Râșcani and other districts who now work and live in the neighboring country.

"Today, the meeting with our citizens settled in Bucharest was also attended by Anenii Noi, Cimișlia, Râșcani and other districts, through the locals born in different villages and cities of Moldova, who now work and live in Romania. They told us that they have two houses and want to see prosperity and democracy on both banks of the Prut," said the Head of State.

Maia Sandu discussed with those present at the meeting about the involvement of young people, pre-accession funds, the importance of participating in the referendum, strengthening connections with young people from the Republic of Moldova, about the need to combat fake news and local development projects.

"I invited the young Bessarabians to return to the Republic of Moldova to support the EU accession process and work in state institutions, including the newly created European Integration Office. I urged them to participate in the referendum and to convince the relatives remaining in Moldova that joining the EU means peace, well-being and a better life for all citizens", concluded the head of state.

We remind you that President Maia Sandu is in Romania to participate in the Congress of the European People's Party, which takes place in Bucharest, on March 6-7.
