Ireland opens its embassy in the Republic of Moldova

The Irish government announced today the decision to open an embassy in the Republic of Moldova, informs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). According to the institution, "this is a clear sign of Ireland's desire to boost its relationship with the Republic of Moldova".

"The decision, based on reciprocity, marks a new stage in Ireland's bilateral relationship with the Republic of Moldova, through which the existing bilateral cooperation, which has been on the rise recently, will be consolidated, deepened and expanded", reads a statement of the MFA.

The decision of the Irish state is part of the expansion of Ireland's diplomatic and consular network, as part of the Global Ireland program.
