Maia Sandu goes to Paris. He will have a meeting with his French counterpart
The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, will be in Paris. The agenda of the working visit includes the meeting with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, at the Élysée Palace, and the signing of cooperation agreements, the Presidency announced in a statement.
Also, according to the cited source, the head of state has scheduled discussions with other French officials and representatives of international organizations, and with the Moldovan community established in France.
We remind that this is not the first visit of the head of state to Paris, the last one was in 2022. The French president was also in the Republic of Moldova. He participated in the European Political Community Summit on June 1, 2023.
Emmanuel Macron is a supporter of the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the EU. The official said that the EU needs to reform in order to be able to receive new members.
The Republic of Moldova and France established diplomatic relations 32 years ago.
