The Republic of Moldova and France will sign a defense cooperation agreement
The Republic of Moldova and France will sign a defense cooperation agreement, the Ministry of Defense informs. According to the institution, the Agreement will be signed by the relevant minister, Anatolii Nosatîi, and his French counterpart, Sébastien Lecornu, during the visit he will make on March 6-7, in Paris.
The agreement will cover the following important areas for the development and modernization of the National Army: defense policy, participation in international missions and operations, airspace control and management, military information and telecommunications technology, military surveying, human resources management, language training, logistics, military medicine , financial and budget management.
The document comes to update the Agreement between the defense institutions of the two states, signed in 1998, and creates a framework to deepen cooperation in the field of defense.
We remind you that, in November 2023, the defense ministries of the Republic of Moldova and France approved a cooperation agreement in the military field. The document stipulates that the parties are to cooperate in sectors such as defense policy and planning, reform of the armed forces, exchange of experience in the field of the organization of the armed forces and other fields.
We remind that Maia Sandu will be in Paris on March 7 and 8. The agenda of the head of state's working visit includes a meeting with President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace and the signing of cooperation agreements.
Also, the head of state has scheduled discussions with other French officials and representatives of international organizations, and with the community of citizens of the Republic of Moldova established in France.
