Ukrainian cities under the rain of Russian missiles. Some of them hit their target by destroying homes and killing people

At least 20 people were killed and more than 70 injured after the Russian military struck an apartment building in the city of Dnipro, located nearly 50 kilometres from Zaporozhye. The press writes that the Russians fired a type of missile that the Ukrainian air defence cannot shoot down without the American Patriot system. Rescuers are still searching for survivors under the rubble, and local authorities have declared three days of mourning. Yesterday, other cities in Ukraine were also hit, including the country's capital, and in some regions the energy infrastructure was also affected.

In the Ukrainian city of Dnipro the situation is serious. The death toll reached 20 people, and 73 people were injured. 40 of them are hospitalised, four of them in serious condition. Among the injured are 12 children. The local authorities decreed three days of mourning. A mother who lost her son could not control her emotions.

"Why did you kill him? You came here to our city and we received you humanly, as our relatives. What have you done to my son? Scoundrels, we curse you to the seventh generation! May you be cursed for life, by everyone!

Rescue teams are working continuously to pull victims out from under the rubble. To locate them, the rescuers kept quiet so they could hear the desperate cries of the people.

"Search and rescue operations are underway for people still under the rubble. Equipment provided by the municipality and those of the Emergency Service are used. There are chances, people must be saved", says rescuer Igor Getalo.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that on January 14, the Russians launched 30 missiles at several cities. 20 missiles were shot down by Ukrainian air defences.

"Unfortunately, there were strikes on the energy infrastructure. The most difficult situation is in the Kharkiv and Kyiv regions. Can Russian terror be stopped? Yes. Is it possible to do it any other way than on the battlefield of Ukraine? Unfortunately no! This can and must be done on our land. For that we need those weapons that are in the warehouses of our partners and that the Ukrainian soldiers are waiting for," President Zelensky emphasised.

The UK is to send tanks to Ukraine. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak discussed with Volodymyr Zelenskiy, and soon the military equipment will be delivered to Ukraine.

"Providing this number of tanks does not change the rules of the game or the course of the battle in this war. The donation symbolises how the West, including Britain, is pushing to provide the type of equipment that Ukraine has requested," says British General Richard Barrons.

Heavy fighting is also taking place in the city of Soledar, even though the Russians have claimed victory in the city. The attacks of the Russian army are not slowing down in this region. The Institute for the Study of War in Washington reported that the Kremlin regime was falsely claiming that Ukraine poses an existential threat to Russia. This is to reject Ukrainian offers to hold a peace summit and for Putin to achieve his goals.
