The Republic of Moldova and the USA will strengthen their cooperative relations in the field of cyber security
Minister of Energy Victor Parlicov signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy and the US Civilian Research and Development Foundation (CRDF), represented by the director of the Office for Europe and Central Asia, Mykhailo Verych.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Energy, the agreement expresses the commitment of both states to increase the general level of cyber defense, the implementation and development of information data security systems and the systems in which they are processed. Also, according to the agreement, the parties will boost cooperation in the scientific and educational field, will provide the exchange of statistical and analytical information, as well as take actions to increase the level of awareness in the field of information security among the population and civil servants.
"This Memorandum marks an important step in promoting cooperation and exchange of experience between the Republic of Moldova and the United States of America in the field of information and cyber security. In the context of the hybrid war we are facing, it is necessary to strengthen the capacities of all state institutions in the field of data protection and prevention of cyber attacks", said Minister Victor Parlicov during the event.
The United States of America strongly supports the Government's efforts to strengthen our country's cyber and information security. At the end of last year, experts from the USA organized a workshop, during which civil servants from the Republic of Moldova were trained on information protection measures, disinformation countering and the development of public policies in the field of cyber defense.
