Zelensky in Istanbul: Talks with Erdogan on Ukraine's Peace
President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, arrived in Istanbul on Friday for crucial discussions with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The talks, as announced by the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform, centre on key issues vital to Ukraine's security and stability.
Zelensky's office had previously disclosed that the agenda includes discussions on a potential peace formula addressing the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Additionally, topics such as ensuring the safety of navigation in the Black Sea and the release of prisoners of war held in Russia will be addressed during the summit.
Amidst heightened tensions in the region, Turkey is expected to reaffirm its unwavering support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine. A Turkish diplomatic source emphasised Turkey's commitment to fostering peace and stability in the area.
