Alexei Navalny's Parents Express Gratitude to Thousands at Grave

The parents of the late Russian opposition leader, Alexei Navalny, who died in custody in mid-February, expressed their gratitude to the thousands of Russians who paid tribute at his grave in Moscow after his burial nearly ten days ago, Agerpres reports.

In a written note posted by Alexei Navalny's widow, Yulia Navalnaya, she conveyed their immense gratitude to those who continue to visit the cemetery, bringing flowers, writing about Alexei, remembering their son, and praying for him.

"We are grateful to all who remember; this memory gives us hope," concluded Anatoly Navalny and Lyudmila Navalnaya.

Following Alexei Navalny's funeral on March 1, thousands of Russians have been visiting his grave daily, paying their respects.

After Alexei Navalny's death on February 16 in a prison in the Arctic region, his mother had to contend with Russian authorities for several days to recover her son's body and arrange for his burial.

The advocacy team of the opposition leader, widely recognized as the foremost adversary of Vladimir Putin, has levelled damning accusations against the Russian government, alleging complicity in his demise and subsequent attempts to obfuscate their involvement, contentions vehemently refuted by the Kremlin.

Yulia Navalnaya, living abroad to avoid imprisonment in Russia, has vowed to continue her husband's fight and has urged his supporters to gather at polling stations on March 17, the final day of the presidential elections in the country.
