Ukraine Stands Firmly with Moldova Against Russian Interference
Ukraine will stand by Moldova to prevent the Russian Federation from intervening in the internal affairs of the country.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba made a statement to this effect during a joint press conference with Moldovan Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi in Kyiv, as reported by Ukrinform.
"We fully support Moldova's integrity and condemn any attempt by Russia to interfere in the resolution of Moldova's internal political issues," said Kuleba.
The political manoeuvres that the Kremlin is attempting in Transnistria and Gagauzia are destined to fail, but they "consume a lot of energy and create additional risks," stated the head of Ukrainian diplomacy.
"Here we will stand firmly side by side to prevent this external interference of Russia in the internal affairs of the Republic of Moldova," assured Kuleba.
The minister specified that he had discussed with the Moldovan foreign minister the security situation in the region and in Ukraine, as well as joint measures with partners to restore peace and security.
"I want to publicly reassure my colleague and all Moldovan citizens that Ukraine will continue to staunchly defend not only its own freedom and independence but also the peace and stability of Moldova," assured the minister.
Moldovan Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi arrived on Wednesday, March 13, for a working visit to the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. Popșoi wrote on his Telegram channel that he is in Kyiv at the invitation of Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
Before the bilateral meeting and a joint press conference with colleagues, they laid flowers at the memorial wall in honour of the heroes who fell for the freedom of Ukraine.
