Urgent Call: International Support Needed After Russian Strikes on Odessa

Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean has conveyed a message of solidarity to the Ukrainian people in response to the "devastating" attacks in Odessa.

Russian rockets struck the Ukrainian city twice in a single day, resulting in loss of human lives.

In a message posted on platform X, Recean stressed the urgent necessity of international support for Ukraine in its endeavours to defend itself and uphold peace in the region.

"Devastating scenes in Odessa, where Russian rockets have struck twice, once again claiming innocent lives. Ukraine is in urgent need of international support to defend itself and safeguard peace in Europe. Moldova stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people, who are facing Russia's brutal aggression," wrote the Prime Minister.

The Russian army killed at least 20 people and injured 73 others after launching two rockets yesterday at the Ukrainian city of Odessa.

In the aftermath of the attack, a paramedic and an Emergency Service employee, who arrived to provide on-site assistance, lost their lives. March 16th has been declared a day of mourning in Odessa.
