An employee of the Russian Embassy in Chisinau was expelled from the Republic of Moldova

The Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Chisinau, Oleg Vasnetsov, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he was handed a note of protest in connection with the organization of the presidential elections in the Russian Federation on the territory of the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova contrary to the position of the Moldovan authorities.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, "in this context, the ambassador of the Russian Federation was handed a note by which a collaborator of the Embassy was declared an undesirable person (non grata) on the territory of the Republic of Moldova and is to leave the country".

We remind you that Vasnetsov was also summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs last week, in connection with the decision of the Embassy of the Russian Federation to open polling stations in the Transnistrian region. He was informed of the position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which disapproves of the opening of polling stations of the Russian Federation in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova. For his part, Vasnetsov told the media that Chisinau's position is "unfounded" and that the rights of Russian citizens in the Republic of Moldova must be respected.

We remind that, in the last six years, nine Russian diplomats were expelled from the Republic of Moldova, followed by similar actions from Moscow.

The most recent case was registered in April last year, when a Russian diplomat was expelled from the territory of the Republic of Moldova for inappropriate behavior.
