Chisinau does not allow the participation of Russian officials in the FAO Regional Conference in the Republic of Moldova
The authorities in Chisinau will not allow the participation of Russian officials in the regional conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) that will take place from May 14 to 17, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) announced in a statement.
"Considering the ongoing war of aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine which has flagrantly violated the UN Charter, triggered multiple crises and undermined food security at the international level, the MFA has decided not to admit the participation of official representatives of the Russian Federation in person, and limitation at the level of the embassy or in online format", reads the statement of the MAE.
We remind that the Republic of Moldova will host the 34th Conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in May. The agenda of the meeting will include current topics related to the field of agriculture, food safety, digitization in the sustainable use of land, forests and water resources.
The format of the event combines in-person and online participation, taking into account FAO's international commitments and conference working methods.
