Moldova-Israel License Deal Eases Relocation

On Wednesday, March 20, the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the State of Israel, Alexandr Roitman, and the Minister of Transport and Road Safety of the State of Israel, Miri Regev, signed an intergovernmental agreement on the conversion of driver's licences.

Under the agreement, the parties will mutually recognize, for the purpose of conversion, driver's licences issued by the competent authorities of the other party, in accordance with national regulations, for driver's licence holders who obtain residency in the other country.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the signing ceremony of the agreement, "the parties expressed their interest in further strengthening the bilateral dialogue, including through continued intergovernmental contacts."

The agreement is expected to come into force in the coming months.
